  • Tamara Dever is a national award-winning book designer, author, publishing coach, and proud GenXer. She’s the creator of six books including The Day We Found Yesterday and the Ultimate Mix Tape series. Tamara is the founder of TLC Book Design in Austin, Texas—a firm of 30+ years with over 350 design awards.

  • Tamara Dever is an award-winning author, book designer, and creative force behind hundreds of publishing projects. As the founder and owner of TLC Book Design, she has spent more than 30 years helping authors bring their stories to life through thoughtful editing, beautiful book design, and encouraging author coaching. Her clients range from debut writers to seasoned speakers to small traditional publishers, with a special emphasis on Christian publishing and children’s picture books. Whether mentoring new authors or designing award-winning books, she brings a passion for excellence to every project.

    Tamara’s deep love for ’70s and ’80s music and pop culture led her to create Ultimate Mix Tape, a series of music quiz books and an in-person, interactive corporate event, Ultimate Mix Tape Live!, that brings the nostalgia of a mixtape to the stage. Her upcoming children’s book, The Day We Found Yesterday, is a heartfelt picture book that bridges generations through storytelling and hidden ’80s Easter eggs, making it a one-of-a-kind gift for Gen X grandparents and their grandkids.

    A frequent guest on retro-themed podcasts, Tamara shares her passion through speaking, writing, and hosting themed experiences that celebrate storytelling, family, faith, and fun.

    When she’s not designing or writing, you’ll find her curating a room full of Gen X treasures, playing keyboard in a band with the local School of Rock, occasionally playing piano at church, or hanging with her husband, kids, and pound puppies from their home base in Austin, Texas.
